**United States Sales and Usage Limitation: For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Intended Use The HHV-6 IFA assay is an in vitro immunological assay for the detection of anti-human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) specific IgG antibodies in serum and plasma.
ASSAY PRINCIPLE The HHV-6 IFA system utilises the indirect immunofluorescent method of antibody detection and titre determination, providing both qualitative and quantitative results to the laboratory.
Patient samples are incubated with HHV-6 antigen stabilised on a glass slide. If anti-HHV-6 IgG antibodies are present in the sample, a stable complex is formed between the antibody and the antigen on the slide.
Bound HHV 6 IgG antibody is then reacted with a fluorescein conjugated goat anti-human IgG and this complex is visualised with the aid of a fluorescence microscope.
Positive reactions are denoted by bright green fluorescence of infected cells. Uninfected cells are stained red due to the used of a counter stain
Rapid easy to use assay
High levels of cells in each well
Good representation of HHV-6 positive and negative cells in each well
